10 reasons to book

Since launching our first instructor training programme over 10 years ago, we’ve seen many new operators follow our lead. With so much choice available now, we’d like to give you 10 Reasons why we think we still lead the market:

1. Value for Money – All inclusive price of £7250 (11 weeks) or £4250 (4 weeks)

We offer the best programme rates, course content and accommodation. We don’t cut corners by missing meals at weekends or by using multi-bedded ‘bunk rooms’.

2. Location

Jasper and Marmot Basin ski area offer the perfect combination as a training venue. Fantastic, high-level and uncrowded slopes together with a town where you will be welcomed as a trainee instructor as opposed to just another tourist passing through.

3. Qualifications

Canadian instructor qualifications are amongst the most respected in the world. A great deal of emphasis is placed on developing teaching and communication skills which means that Canadian trained instructors are always in great demand.

4. All inclusive price

Our approach is simple; Everything you need to know in one place. Meals every day and one standard of accommodation… HIGH!

5. Dedicated Accommodation

The Canadian Rockies Academy has exclusive use of the Amethyst Lodge, a centrally located hotel in the heart of Jasper. All rooms are large and have private facilities with only two people sharing. Each has a television and daily maid service. There is a comfortable bar and a large entertainment area with a pool table and a giant TV screen. Breakfast and dinner is served at the hotel every day.

6. Social Activities

The Academy caters for a wide range of ages and interests but a programme of activities is offered to ensure that you need never be bored.

7. Experience

The Academy management team created the first instructor training programme of its kind in the UK in 1998. Similar courses have been operated literally all over the world but all that experience is now focused on ensuring that the Rockies programme is the best value and quality that money can buy. CRA is a division of the Academy of International Sport Ltd. AIS Ltd operates ski/snowboard programmes for literally thousands of wintersport enthusiasts each year.

8. Job Prospects

The Canadian Rockies Academy is widely recognised as an organisation that prepares its students to be able to make a full contribution to the running of a professional ski school. There is a world of difference between the Academy programme and any other Gap programme.

9. Pricing Policy – Why so cheap?

The Canadian Rockies Academy in conjunction with Marmot Basin operates a collegiate pricing policy as opposed to an extended holiday pricing structure. This means that you get the benefit of a cost structure usually reserved for educational programmes. The savings are significant. In addition to this, we have selected a base that has excellent facilities but is perhaps less well known than some of the larger tourist-trap resorts. As a result, you will find that the day to day living costs are much more affordable. There is nothing worse than being in a ski resort for a whole season but having to think twice about going out for a relaxing evening with friends.

10. Financial Security

Perhaps the most important area to pay attention to when selecting a training programme operator. It is a matter of law that any person or organisation who offers a travel package which includes flights out of the UK must hold an Air Tour Operator Licence awarded by the Civil Aviation Authority.
