Yes you can! If you’re a UK resident, you could be eligible for a Career Development Loan (CDL). Go here to find out a bit more. Good luck!
What about insurance for my course – can you orgainse or recommend a good supplier?
Glad you asked, there are a range of winter sports insurances. Here’s some details of the guys we think do a great job…
What is included in the price of my course?
Well, where do we start?! We are THE most all inclusive course, one of few that combine All of your meals for the whole of your stay. The best thing is to check out this page and all will be revealed!
What’s the cost of food if we stay on for the extra 3 weeks?
We think you should allow between $25-40 per day
What Travel Insurance would you recommend?
We think that Endsliegh and BMC are very good
I’m interested in the Disabled course. How should I sign up/ register my interest?
Simple! Just sign up when you get to resort – this year (2011) it cost $160 Canadian so you’ll need to budget for slightly more in 2012, but not a huge amount more.
What should I do about money? Should I open a Bank Account in Canada, bring all my money with me, take it from my UK account? What would you advise?
Setting up an account in Canada is easy and you can wire it across with internet banking… TRavelex cards are dead simple too, and are easy to reload. We can talk through opening a Canadian account when you get here – and even help you do it!
Should I take equipment or buy it in Jasper?
Hmmm, well the shops in Jasper are great if you have any issues with the kit you buy out there. Cost wise, it really depends on the exchange rate at the time, but we do get a discount on local stores out in Jasper. That doesn’t automatically mean cheaper kit, but it can do depending on the exchange rate at the time. The big bonus is really the fact that you can pretty much try before you buy in Jasper.
What should I do about a mobile phone?
Make sure it’s unlocked as a Canadian Carrier SIM card is cheap , but you will get charged to recive calls and texts so this can become costly. For calling within Canada, definitely doing so on a Canadian SIM is best, but that won’t work so well for overseas calls.
I want to call home but will probably want to call people on the course too.
Phone cards and Skype are without a doubt the best way to communicate with the guys and girls back home. Bring a laptop and get Skype installed at home before you leave so you can chat to the folks real easy!
What’s the hotel like?
Real comfortable with 2 hot tubs!
Is there a communal room?
Kinda – there’s a games room.
What’s the food like?
The food is great, with a good mix of meals. There’s a theme most evenings, like Italian, roast, Aisan, Indian – you get the idea!
Are there computers I can use?
Yep, 2 in the hotel lobby, but if you can take a laptop you really should!
