Alun Williams
Alun Williams, Chairman of Academy of International Sports, has worked in the winter sports industry for over 25 years and led the first British company to make North American winter sport instructor training programmes available in the UK. The programmes that Alun has created have developed over the years and now cater for a wide range of ages and experience.
Cath Lewis
Cath Lewis, Managing Director of the Canadian Rockies Academy, was involved in the very first instructor training programmes offered by a UK company almost ten years ago. Since those ground breaking days, we have successfully trained over a thousand winter sports enthusiasts who have utilised their professional ski or snowboard instructor qualifications to work at world class resorts across the globe.
Our Approach
We believe the best way to understand how a winter sport school works is from the inside. Our participants become resort insiders and we actively encourage them to become involved in all aspects of running the mountain. That involves understanding the important work undertaken by the Ski Patrol, taking part in an Avalanche Awareness course, providing a consistent level of customer service to all visitors to the mountain, and much more.
We want to provide a well-rounded ski/ boarding education that incorporates technical, interpersonal and professional learning. In turn that will give you the best possible chance of finding employment within your chosen winter sports discipline.
